Coaching is my passion!

Together we head to the next summit

Coaching can be very helpful, e.g. when you

  • are faced with big decisions or want to avoid them
  • want to make better use of your resources and skills
  • want to find the right work / life balance
  • want to develop strategies for conflict and problem-solving
  • feel stuck and are looking for a new perspective
  • want more self-confidence and satisfaction

“My favourite description of coaching is us hiking together. In the mountains, no- one cares whether you are a board member or a young professional. What counts is community, mutual help, respect, openness, reliability and looking out for each other. We walk some of the way together, we talk or we are quiet with each other, we either see your goal in front of us or we discover it together.

And at some point we arrive.”

What to expect

Coaching process (example)

The Discovery Session is our first real appointment together and sets the foundation for our coaching relationship.

In this longer session (1.5 hours, or more if necessary), we will cover the following topics, and possibly more:

  • “Designing the alliance” – how would you like to be coached? Are there areas you don’t want to talk about? How would you like to deal with difficult issues?
  • Discovery – we talk about your values and discover them together. Your life purpose – why are you here and what do you want to achieve?
  • Presentation of coaching vocabulary and tools (allies, saboteurs, perspectives, ..)
  • Organisation/Practicalities
    • Deadlines
    • Punctuality
    • Accountability
    • Payment
    • Agreeing on the number of sessions
    • Homework
  • Future
    • Vision and dreams
    • Personal Goals
    • How do I measure success?
    • Developing or breaking habits
    • Pursuing a goal

As you can see, this session provides the important foundation for our work together. We can always come back to this and make changes.

Between sessions, it is your responsibility to do the agreed homework. You always have the option to reject a homework assignment, but then you would need to offer a counter-proposal.

Homework might be mindfulness diaries, training a new habit, contemplating a specific topic or one of many other items.

These are the true power of coaching and the beginning of change – before that it is “just” a nice chat.

I am also available for short feedback between the sessions.

As we continue our collaboration, we will go into detail per session on the topic you have chosen.

 Some points are important here:

  • Please think about a topic for each session in advance.
  • Be on time and prepared
  • Briefly go over any homework from the previous session.

In the course of a typical coaching session you can expect e.g.

  • Powerful questions (open, intuitive questions)
  • Change of perspective
  • Thought journey
  • A shared and jointly agreed “Challenge”
  • Homework related to our topic

Each session is individual and is based on our mutual intuition and openness.

At the end of our session I ask you for feedback on how it went for you.

After the session you will be responsible for completing your homework before the next session.

The end of our collaboration/relationship is just as individual as the beginning and is not fixed. Some clients are satisfied after 5 sessions and then continue on their own, others stay for several months or years.

There is no right or wrong here and it is your decision.

I will not persuade you to continue working with me if you do not wish to do so. However, if I believe that you would benefit from further coaching, I will of course express this.

Coaching thrives on openness and trust and this, of course, applies here as well.

About me

“In almost 20 years in the IT industry, I have always been driven by a passion to help others. To help my customers, my colleagues and privately, of course, my family and friends.

Helping has different facets for me, which are also reflected in other values such as reliability, friendliness and honesty. It simply gives me a good feeling when I have been able to help someone.

I enjoy change and I like to try out new things and I appreciate the positive aspects of change. I like to accompany and encourage others in their transformation and this is something that happens naturally for me.

Today I make this my second vocation and through coaching, I want to help people see and approach private and professional challenges from a different perspective.

I searched and tried for a long time before I decided on coaching. The journey has been exciting and has been driven by my values and interests.

One of my coaching instructors said to me, “You didn’t seek coaching, coaching found you.”

And that sums it up:

Coaching brings me incredible joy and gives me energy, which I will also give to you in our sessions. I will bring my intuition, be curioseabout you as a person and have enthusiasm for our alliance.”

Coaching gives me incredible joy and gives me energy, which I give back to you in our sessions. I can fully contribute my intuition, curiosity about you and my enthusiasm to our alliance.

A truly inspiring journey

„Working with Max has been a truly inspiring journey! He’s not only a person who makes you feel safe and trusting right away, he’s also the kind of coach who’s not afraid to be authentic in his way of leading sessions.
He pinpoints shadow aspects that need to come to surface, just as much as he empowers one to go for what wants to be unfolded. I’m looking forward to our next journey together!”

Nina Buschle, Berlin

I quickly came up with solutions

„The coaching with Max was super beneficial for me.
He didn’t take up much space, so I was able to present myself completely and get my head together. He asked the right questions and so I quickly and independently came up with solutions and possibilities for myself.

His decelerating manner is very pleasant and gives the coaching situation the appropriate effect.”

Laura H., München

Coaching is fun

“Coaching with Max is fun and challenging at the same time. In the various exercises, you find new ways of looking at a problem or an issue and learn a lot about yourself. Max has a good sense for the feelings of his (virtual) counterpart (e.g. joy or resistance) and reacts accordingly. He encourages you to step out of your comfort zone, but only if you are willing to do so. I found the exercise on recognizing my most important values and how to apply them to make decisions easier very helpful.”

Miriam Schmidt, München
